Ashley Recommends: Worms Armageddon
Oh dear, Worms Armageddon, where do i start... this game is pure round based, turn based carnage... You setup a team of worms, host a server, choose a gravestone and start blasting your friends away with multiple weapons. The catch? None... Just the fact the weapons have literal physical ballistic calculations and you have to turn on your braincells to process all the possibilities your bazooka (One of my faves) will land at. The game also includes a rather funny way to end rounds that go on too long after the time limit - "Sudden Death". As soon as the timer of the current ongoing game runs out, sudden death will activate. Your worms may drop to 1 HP, water levels will rise drastically and the round goes over faster this way! Protip! If you click on the little skull icon on the copyright notice on the homepage of this site, there may be a worms related easter egg for you. Getting bored? Make a custom map. Turn your friend's face into a playable map and you can shoot holes into them! Then you learn about wormkit modules. These will allow you to mod the game with plug-ins, addons, and even custom weapons if you're tech-savvy enough (Some old plug-ins don't work anymore since the game is still updated, but i think that's okay... A game from 1999 usually doesn't receive updates anymore! A worthy game to try out if you're into ballistics, sandbox games and turn based games. The game also includes a Singleplayer Campaign and fully offline Bot skirmishes.
